FAQ

Do I need a medical prescription to consult an osteopath?

No. You can see an osteopath at any time and without a doctor's prescription. In many cases, osteopaths work is complementary to other health professionals.

How many treatments are needed for relief?

The number of consultations depends on the condition and medical history of the patient. In most consultations, we see a significant improvement after two or three visits.

Can an osteopath terminate my prescribed medication?

No, never! An osteopath does not have the training to make decisions about your medications. This is strictly reserved for the medical profession and only physicians are allowed to do so. You should always consult your doctor before making a decision.

Are consultation fees reimbursed by RAMQ (sun card)?

No. However, most insurance plans reimburse the cost of osteopathic consultations. A receipt will be given after each appointment for you to make a claim with your insurer.
